Seniors Services Program
FCS is specially geared to assist seniors and their families. We can help you to learn about and better understand the wide range of available programs offered by Municipal, Provincial and Federal governments.
Our staff is kept informed and up to date so that we may provide you with the most current information, and ensure that you do not get lost in the shuffle. Keeping abreast of changes is our most critical aim, so that you may be sure of receiving all necessary information on available funding, and assistance through the application process.

Living at Home Program
The Living at Home Program helps maintain basic light housekeeping, assisting seniors to remain living independently.
The program serves seniors residing in Chauvin, Edgerton and Irma, rural areas of the MD of Wainwright and within the Town of Wainwright. The program is delivered by our L@H Assistants who are reliable and responsible individuals who have been carefully screened and hired for their caring attitude towards people as well as their practical experience. We support the learning needs of our staff through periodic training and skill development specific to their needs and the needs of those they serve.
Service is provided on the basis of need. The fee is up to $18.50 per hour based on income. For more information on this rate, please contact the Wainwright & District FCS office.
Fees for this program will be increasing to $20.00 per hour in January 2019.
Emergency Alert Program
The Emergency Alert Program uses the Good Samaritan Society Telecare® system which provides participants living independently the assurance that immediate assistance is available in times of need.
Cost: . Emergency Alert Installation Fee: $75.00 . Monthly Fee: $37.95
Meals on Wheels Program
This program is suspended until further notice.

Elder Abuse Prevention
The Alberta Elder Abuse Awareness Network is a network of Albertans dedicated to increasing awareness and supporting a community response to elder abuse.
