Emergency Alert Program
The Emergency Alert Program (formerly Apello) uses the MainStreet Messenger® system that allows participants living independently the assurance that immediate assistance is available in times of need.
How Does the Program Work?
When the “ALERT” pad on the MainStreet Messenger® unit is activated or the remote transmitter pendant or bracelet is activated the system will dial in sequence the four emergency responder telephone numbers.
Pre-programmed help numbers
Responders are chosen by participants and can be neighbours, friends, relatives or the 911 dispatcher. The responder can establish two-way communication with a participant by activating the MainStreet Messenger® hands free speaker phone.
Benefits
The Emergency Alert Program, using the MainStreet Messenger® unit and transmitter, gives security and comfort to participants and their families. It assures that help is available to participants should an emergency arise.
Cost
The MainStreet Messenger® unit and transmitter bracelet or pendant is available from the Wainwright & District FCS Emergency Alert Program for $25.00 per month.
