Developmental “Check-ups” for Children

Are you interested in “checking in” on your child’s developmental milestones? The Ages and Stages Questionnaire 3 (ASQ 3) is a parent friendly resource to provide parents with an accurate portrait of their child’s development. The ASQ will educate families about what to expect in the next stage of their child’s development and offer parent’s ideas and suggestions to promote it.

Please refer to the Preschool Developmental Screening brochure for more information, or call the Wainwright Parent Link Centre for a copy of an ASQ 3. The Screens are available for children age 2 months to 5 years.

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

“Come play with us”

This program recognizes the importance of providing information and support to parents in their role raising their young children ages 0-7, and provides opportunities for young children to learn through play focused early childhood activities. All services and programs are provided free of charge.

This program provides programs and services in four core areas: Information and Referral for Parents, Enriched Early Childhood Programs, Family Support, Parent Education and resources. Linkage is promoted between the area Early Childhood Service providers and agencies through an advisory body; the Early Years Team. Parent Link services are available to parents, caregivers and children throughout the Municipal Districts of Provost and Wainwright.

Some program components are Character Education; Toy Lending Library; Enrolment and Drop-in Parent and Child Programs; Indoor Playground; Early Childhood Services Resource Directory; Support to the area Playschools and Outreach Services through Parent Link On Wheels in Chauvin, Edgerton and Irma; and Parent Link Program in Czar and Provost.
